Advanced Sterilization Techniques

Our practice utilizes state-of-the-art sterilization and disinfecting techniques designed to ensure your safety, including:

  • Following recommended Universal Precaution hygiene practices, including washing our hands with medicated soap and using fresh gloves for each patient.
  • Wearing new gloves, face masks, and protective eyewear while treating patients.
  • Sterilizing all instruments with the use of an ultrasonic machine and heat sterilizer before each procedure.
  • Disposing of all prophy cups after each patient.
  • Double wiping all counter tops and surfaces with approved hospital-grade disinfectants.
  • Disposing of supplies whenever possible (i.e. paper cups, anesthetic needles, prophy cups, bibs, headrest covers, etc.).
  • Regularly monitoring our sterilizer for effective sterilization by an independent laboratory.
  • Taking continuing education courses in infection control and Universal Precaution to ensure we use the most efficient sterilization techniques and processes.
  • Having our oxygen and nitrous oxide equipment regularly monitored for leakage.
